The overall design approach prioritizes intentional functionality, where each spatial intervention is designed not only as a visual element but also as an integral part of how audiences navigate, gather, and interact within the festival grounds. A primary material strategy centers around the extensive use of fabric as an architectural facade element, allowing the design to create dynamic layers of transparency, silhouette, and light interplay throughout the site. This materiality introduces softness and movement while enabling lighting treatments to transform the atmosphere from day to night.
The festival spatial experience is divided into two distinct design zones, each carrying its own visual identity while remaining connected through a cohesive material language.
The first section, anchored around the main entrance and Stage 1, embraces a stronger street urban character. This area incorporates a more raw and energetic visual language that reflects the vibrancy and youthful energy associated with contemporary urban culture, creating an immediate sense of arrival and excitement.
The second section, extending from Stage 2 toward the interior installations and deeper festival areas, transitions into a calmer and more immersive spatial experience inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian minimalism. Dominated by white fabric structures, this zone uses controlled lighting, layered silhouettes, and subtle spatial separations to create moments of visual pause and contrast within the overall festival journey. These interventions act as intentional visual breaks, offering a softer atmosphere that balances the high-energy environment established in the front-facing urban zones.
Together, these two spatial narratives create a festival environment that is not purely decorative, but carefully designed to balance aesthetic identity, user movement, atmosphere, and functional experience, shaping Lalala Festival 2025 as an immersive space where design actively contributes to how the festival is experienced.
